Plastic Sux!

As many of us already know, the less we consume, the less we waste. Have you ever really looked at how much plastic you buy? There are numerous studies which confirm that bottled water is no less ‘healthy’ than tap water, yet so many people insist on bottled water. Many of these same people neglect to recycle them. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Do you want to see where it all ends up???
So! Have you caught on to the latest green trends? FINALLY people are noticing the packaging they purchase becomes waste. Please, consider these simple ways you can make a difference to the health of our planet and each other:
- USE CANVAS, OR OTHER, RE-USABLE [THIS IS A KEY WORD] BAG WHENEVER SHOPPING, NOT JUST GROCERY SHOPPING. MAKE THIS A HABIT!
- USE A GLASS OR STAINLESS STEEL WATER BOTTLE. C’MON ALREADY!
CHECK OUT “LOVE BOTTLE”
- CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO BUY NO PLASTIC FOR ONE WEEK. NOTICE HOW OFTEN YOU WOULD HAVE NORMALLY CHOSEN A PRODUCT PACKAGED IN PLASTIC. CAN YOU FIND AN ALTERNATIVE? for example: I do not buy ziploc bags or use produce bags [unless I know they are made from biodegradable sources] and yet, I find I always have ample supply of bags for produce at home from bags saved from bread, tortillas, bulk items purchased, etc.
- REFILL PRODUCTS AT CO-OPS
This is certainly not about depravation or making things difficult. This is about choice, seeing how your actions affect the whole, and becoming more aware of earth friendly and healthy alternatives to the throw away convenience we have learned. Please commit to using less plastic, recycling, and re-using before purchasing.
